Guest guest
Why we all had this surgery! 1. You can NOT out eat a 5-10 ounce stomach and even if you did..... 2. You only absorb calorically 60% of your overeating and even if you did..... 3. studies show that your boby finds a balance and if you OUT EAT the surgery, your malabsorbtion will increase in proportion to the increase in consumed calories! So 4. Enjoy yourself skinny...you deserve it...you are " retooled " for life. DAN > Hi All, > > I have a question for the post-ops. Guest guest
Dan, I am preop, so I don't assume to know as much about the surgery, but I would really love to have some cites on the 3rd point you have made about the body increasing malabsorption. Since it has been statistically proven that DSers can regain up to 20% of their EWL...which i feel is a phenominally low number...and since both the common channel and alimentary limb actually lengthen with time, otherwise you would never stop losing weight... Anddddd....the body always attempts to go back to a " normalized " state, meaning it compensates for any deficiencies, per Dr. Rabkin, that is...so as time goes on, the window of opportunity decreases and the body reduces its malabsorption rate.... Ok...now with all that said...I prefer your view of it....grins...could you tell me where you got that information...and if you are correct...I think I love you!
