Hi all,

iIwas having problems with 2 CORNS on my feet. One of them has been with me for 25 yrs now . i am in pain all the time , i used corn caps andid all sorts of thing s even excised them from time to time but they kept coming back , here i am house bound stay in a prtotected envirnment all day why should i have the at all,? but they were making life hell fo rme , though imust say have a lot of tolerance for pain.

To cut it short I decided to get them removed surgically.last week i went to a nearby hospital and met a gen .surgeon there who said it was a simple enough thing he would excise them and cautorise if necssary.

he did that and put stitch too for the smaller one but he couldnt stitch the bigger corn which was excatly in the centre of my heel about 3mm in diameter and he gored it deep and removed it. he told me not to step on it for a few days .Easier said than done ,when i reached home and was trying to get on to the wheelchair from the car my foot accidently came down , Gosh !!!it started gushing bloodi immediedetely lost at least 300ml. of blood ,we drove back to the hospital where ithe dotcor s and nurses stemmed the bleeding and he had to stitich and cautorise again . It was so much painn and agony all bought on myself. since then I have been moving about on the wheel chair and the foot ist still healing .

I shoulnt have come home at once after the procedure ,and the doctor sholndnt have sent me home at once. It was a costly mistake.i bleed very easily asnd he kept saying he did not expect so much blood from the hee! !This was second episode of bleeding after my nose bleed 2yrs back

Lesson to be learnt ' be careful all the time'

Geeta, OUCH.. I had a seed wart burned off my foot and don't ever want foot pain again. I am glad it is over. I hope it heals quickly. Take Care of you. I completely missed the corn post. Sure didn't sound like fun now that I

read it. Guess not medically complicated so they'd label it minor but

from a pain standpoint think I'd label it major.

As to responses, I'm sorry I didn't, but I miss some posts. Especially

certain days when other things have my attention. I try to scan and pick

up everything but don't do it as well as I once did (once in my life I

could scan quickly lots of pages, miss nothing). To you and others who

sometimes have posts seemingly ignored, I hope you all realize its not a

matter of not caring, but more a matter of unfortunate coincidence. I

think the reason its virtually no response versus lots is that once one

or two respond then it becomes far more likely that more of us will see

it.

It was not stupid nor childish and you shouldn't feel worse. It was

honest and you're by a long shot not the first to feel that way. The odd

thing is that it tends to happen more to those who have posted the most

posts of support. Sometimes even when one posts a supportive post and

then tosses in something about their own problems. In fact, I think that

might be part of it, that we anticipate they're responding in support of

others and overlook their problems. Let me assure you it's happened to

many and there has been some hurt for each of us, whether we said

anything about it or not. It's a good reminder for all of us to remain

aware and try to make sure we at least acknowledge issues others face.

Geeta,

Still working my way through the emails that backed up while I was babysitting at my sisters and this morning I come upon yours.

The corn removal experience you had is something out of a nightmare! I do remember the nose bleed episode that you had and yes being careful of anything that can cause bleeding is especially important to you.

Oh my goodness as someone who has had small corns removed in the past I know how uncomfortable it is but what you have had to deal with is beyond anything I've ever heard anyone experiencing.

Please keep your feet up for awhile and RELAX! I'm so sorry you went through this. Here's to speedy healing! (or heeling LOL)
