Guest guest
I have some of the same problem. I call it the " clean plate " syndrome. I don't know about others but I still remember my mother insisting on me cleaning my plate before I could have desert. Also, remember those poor children in Europe who would love to have a plate of food for themselves. We are programmed not to leave anything on the plate and not to waste any food. I find it very difficult to leave anything on my plate. It is a real struggle and I can end up eating too much now. At home I can control it by using a small plate or just making sure I only serve myself what is the amount I can eat. Eating out is something else. Right now my DH will finish things for me or I ask for a container and put it in that before I'm finished. Rita B
Guest guest
so are you upset that you " WASTED " food? but you are no longer " WAISTING " food. that is the best route. and remember, that drive-thru will be there tomorrow morning too. next time try a yummy breakfast burrito! you will get used to eating less eventually. it is hard to put down that sandwich when your head is screaming " i haven't had enough yet! " but try putting in too much and you'll be running for the throne and having a different kind of " seconds " . trust me, been there, puked that....... it just takes time for your eyes to stop being so much bigger than your new tummy. and when that certain feeling of " am i full yet? " sets in, you will learn to listen and say " YES " and stop eating. then if you hate to waste the food, put it in the fridge. then when it has gotten hard as cured cement and has a nice green fuzzy coat, you will be more than happy to throw that thing away. or before you start eating, get a knife and cut it in half, then offer the half you KNOW you can't eat to someone else. they will love you for the snack! and you'll not be obsessing over the food in the trash can. how's that? mary y > Hi All, > > I have a question for the post-ops.
