Guest guest
Hi everyone, So glad to have found this community. I desperately need advice regarding helping my constipation. I've had several bouts of SIBO and the last bout resolved with the SCD diet. I now have it again and have severe constipation. I'm chronically constipated while not on the diet (before I ever got SIBO) and fibre, water and exercise don't do the trick. Previously, I was taking Magnesium citrate every other day to avoid impaction and this worked okay - until I got the SIBO. I'm currently on antibiotics and am on the SCD diet once again. What I'm worried about is that I won't be able to have a bowel movement without the magnesium citrate and that if the SIBO returns when I'm off antibiotics that I won't be able to move my bowels - this results in extreme pain and bloating. I understand the constipation protocol but am wondering if anyone else had to use a transitioning laxative just in case things got out of hand? I also understand that it was a mistake to go off of the diet so quickly so I'll be on it for a long time - taking probiotics, eating the scd yogurt, water, exercise and taking vitamins. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
