Guest guest
They look like white flecks (at least in our case) itty bitty rice looking stuff in the stools. During die off there are a lot of different scenarios, as the yeast die, toxins are released, some children hallucinate, some scream, some stare off into space, my son (besides the stool) gets aggresive, hyper, than crying spurts...than he stabalizes-Shari Re: Yeast Die Off > Shari, > > What exactly does yeast in the stools look like? > > Dawn in Denver > Mother of 5 NT, 3 ASD, and 7 months > > >
Guest guest
Shari, I think I read somewhere that the yeast die-off last about a week (God, I hope so!). My son, , has been having these incredible meltdowns for the last two days. When he stops crying, he starts laughing hysterically. It's a little unnerving to watch, but at least I was warned this might happen. My advice to other parents going through a yeast die-off--DON'T GO TO THE MALL!!! I had to drag my son (literally) out to the car this morning because his brother pushed the elevator button instead of letting him. I keep telling myself this is a good thing in disguise. Guest guest
Dawn, Don't worry, it will end soon, although the yeast issue is a constant battle. Limited sugar, and even then, yeast comes & goes...luckily we have a " visual " My son will develop ecsema when he is having a flare up, and as soon as the yeast is under control, the skin rash disappears. Makes it easier...-Shari (and I know as soon as we go to a mall, we will have a melt down, no matter what...it's what Mall stands for...Mom's Animals Let Loose???) Guest guest
<< I was just wondering what kind of experiences you guys have had with yeast die off. Can probiotics aid in it? Are behaviors involved? I just put my kids on an aggressive probiotic. >> In our case, it was bacterial die-off, but the behavior we had was extreme irritability. My son slammed the front door on the face of his best friend who had come to visit. We were at some friend's house, and my son bumped into their piano and hurt his side, then angrily screamed at a little boy across the room and said the boy pushed him and wanted to hurt him. Later at the same house, he went to an innocent boy and started kicking him in the shins. A few days later, we went to the zoo. My son ran down the stairs to get to the underwater seal exhibit, and when he got to the bottom, he noticed he could have run down a ramp instead of the stairs and angrily kicked at the stairs while crying and said that the stairs didn't like him and wanted to get him mad. Trust me, none of the above is normal behaviour for my son, and he acted this way in some degree for almost two weeks. He also showed some hyperactivity, but we've had that problem off and on, so I can't definitely attribute that to die-off. Also, there were a few days when he felt weak and wanted me to carry him (he's 4). I'll bet there's a wide range of behaviors caused by die-off, but this is what happened in our case. Good luck!
