Guest guest
Hi Jenni, As an add on to my last message, for a good overview about what to be looking for in cod liver oil the following article is very good: http://www.westonaprice.org/basicnutrition/clarifications.html . The article was written by Dr. Enig who I have referenced about before; she is recognized internationally as an expert in eatable oils. A friend just let me know that Enig is no longer recommending Carlson's brand because they are reformulating its ingredients and omitting Vitamin A, which is one of the critical factors, in reaping the real benefits of code liver oil. I have no personal knowledge about the Blue Ice brand she references but I do know the Radiant Life is excellent but doesn't taste very good, I don't believe they add lemon as other brands sometimes do. In my opinion the lemon juice seems to do the best job disguising the bad taste. As I said before, keep it refrigerated so it stays fresh and also makes it easier to swallow. For even more in depth information cod liver oil, go to the following web site: http://www.westonaprice.org/basicnutrition/codliveroil.html Beth > > Hi Jenni, It depends on the brand cod liver oil you buy. We tried a variety and found that the lemon flavored one by Carlson's tasted the best. For us their really isn't much taste, but everyone has different taste buds. We tried the gel caps that where mentioned but they are more expensive, so we opted for the liquid form. Also, some may have difficulty swallowing the gel caps because of the size. There is however a good brand by Eskimo III that has super small gel caps that might work for those unable to swallow the larger caps. Other than those options just trying to hide it various foods if possible is the best approach. Beth
