Guest guest
Sheryl, Yes, the rule is 20 lbs. I believe in all states. I have 3 kids, and my oldest has RSS. I don't remember when I turned him around, but he wasn't 20 lbs. until he was almost 3! I am sure I turned him around before this. All of my kids are on the small side, and for my 2 non-RSS kids, I turned them around when they were a year old, and neither were 20 lbs. yet. My pediatrician told me it would be ok. My youngest is now 15 months and she still isn't 20 lbs., but she has been forward facing for over 3 months. I think she was somewhere between 18.5 & 19 lbs. when we turned her. She is 19.5 lbs. now. She is 29.5 " . Kim C. Does everyone out there with a toddler have state laws requiring the car seat to face the rear until they hit 20 lbs? I feel like it will be forever before we can turn Dalia around to the front. I asked the pediatrician about turning her around because her feet hit the back seat, but they said " the law is the law " - this is true.. This is not too much of a vent, but rather a topic I was wondering about how others approached.
