Does he use the tools for work purpose? Maybe he can get his employer to

replace them or keep your receipts and list it on your taxes for next year. I

feel horrible for you that this happened. Thankfully, no one was hurt, except

for feelings. Definitely call the cops. In fact, you should also call the

landlord because, you never know, the landlord must carry insurance as well.

Being that it is a garage and depending on certain circumstances, maybe the

landlord's insurance company can do something.
