Hi!

This is what I sent to the graduate list about weight regain!

Hope I get (or don't get) any responses!

Hi all?

Someone mentioned to me that there are some BPD/DSers on this list that have

gained a significant amount of their weight back??? The literature shoes

little (8 pounds) to no late weight regain, but of course this is an average.

I have had no problems with weight regain, but am interested in any who

have. I do know of a couple with very rare metabolic (bodies are overly

adaptive at trying to keep them fat) problems that had to have there surgery

fine tuned (only 2 in the hundreds (maybe over a thousand) of dsers I have

run across. But their doctors have told them this is a very, very, very rare

situation with the ds. Typically when a ds surgeon hears of a person not

losing enough or gaining they look at the procedure. There is very little

talk from the surgeons about how the patient " ate around " or was " non

compliant " I would love to hear from any who have gained over 10 pounds with

the ds. I would like to hear from the actual person or from anyone who can

put me in contact with the actual person.

Someone said there were a lot of posts about BPD/DS weight gain back in the

mid to end of summer. I was on this list the whole time and never saw

them????? There was a lot of talk of others struggling, but I don't remember

the BPD/DS ones. Please reacquaint me with your situation if you were one of

the BPD/DSers talking about weight regain.

Thanks for your help.
