Guest guest
Hello again ! has a high arched palate on the top, and I don't think it's as wide as most peoples. He, also, has a very small, narrow jaw on the bottom. One of his biggest problems with eating seems to be that when he bites on food, his front bottom teeth scrape the gums behind the top front teeth! This area frequently gets red and irritated, which I would assume makes chewing a " not-so-pleasant " experience. Maybe part of the problem with eating " real " people food??? His bottom teeth are much more compact, and crooked, than his top teeth, although he doesn't have any spaces between his top teeth either. His mouth is so still small that he still cannot fit a regular teaspoon in, and he's over 3 yrs old now! I use an infant spoon for feeding. I thought the size of his oral cavity might be part of his gagging problem. With it being so small, it feels full with less food??? He also curls his tongue into the back of his mouth whenever you spoon in food, so the food actually ends up under his tongue. Have no idea how this bad habit got started!! He also cannot fit a normal child's toothbrush comfortably between his teeth, and the side of his mouth, making any effective brushing impossible. Take care!! Guest guest
Pat, has the same problem with brushing her teeth. She uses a toddler toothbrush and even with that when I try to brush the sides of her teeth (mainly the right side of her mouth) she complains it hurts and I have trouble getting the toothbrush on that side. Initially I thought it was the the angle I was standing at to her and the hand I was using but it's not. It's weird that everything on 's right side is bigger (not longer but bigger/thicker) than her left. When we saw Dr. H she measured her and said that her right thigh and calf are a cm thicker than her left but felt that it was normal because is right handed. But I was just telling Jodie Cals that even 's hair is thicker on the right side and her right foot is a 1/2 size bigger on that side.
