I have just been reviewing the WLS Memorial pages on the ObesityHelp site.

The one thing that I noted is that it appears that all deaths occurred

either preop (waiting for approval for surgery) or postop. I did not see

any who passed away IN surgery (or immediately thereafter). Embolisms, of

course, were the biggest killer. It is very sobering. The majority of

people on that site are RNY's, so it does remind me that it is not just the

DS that has the possibility of complications.

For all of you post ops out there... get up and walk around! Keep yourself

moving so I don't have to worry about you.
