Confused about probiotics

Hi all,

I am getting very conflicting reports about when to take probiotics so they will

be effective. Do you take on a full stomach so your stomach acidity doesn't

kill it? I've also read that you're supposed to take it a half hour or an hour

before you eat, with your first bite of food, or before you go to bed. Are

there are any reliable sources of info that someone can point to me that can

tell me the right way to do this?

Many thanks!

Ellen

Ellen,

The reason you hear so many conflicting reports is, like everything else

on this diet, a matter of what works for you.

What works for me is to take my s. boulardii 30-40 minutes before I eat

or two hours after I eat. Then I either have some yogurt or some

acidophilus when I eat. I do s. boulardii before breakfast and before

dinner, usually, and acidophilus with dinner. I have yogurt any time the

mood strikes me.<grin>

Someone else may have a different dosing schedule which works best for

them. A third and fourth person may have a couple more methods which work

for THEM. That's why there are so many different methods. SCD is not

" one size fits all. "
