Guest guest
has the MedPulse vest by ElectroMed it is smaller than the regular vest. I was told by the doc that either this or the chest vest is better for smaller kids. but the rep that I spoke to from The Vest, told me that they don't usually give the chest vest to little kids. But I'm sure that would be different if your son liver problems are effecting his tolerance of the big vest. I would call the company you are already dealing with. or Maybe Randy can answer your question better. Chest vest for children Does anyone know if there is a Chest vest for children? My son who is five and a half years old, complains that his tummy is hurting, and he currently has the full vest. The doc once told me that he would not be surprised because Tyler's liver gets enlarged at times. I'm thinking that it may be his liver acting up that makes him hurt when doing the vest. It was suggested that the lower clasp be undone when they complain about the stomach hurting. This has worked well for Milan. I just lay down with my youngest and rub her tummy it helps her to release gas everytime plus we have a little one on one time too. Guest guest
We have applied the Chest Vest to children, but they are usually in the 8 - 12 year old range. The smaller ones still use the Full Vest. That doesn't mean it cannot be tried on younger patients. There is a pedi pulmonologist in my area that applies it to the younger children; she just tries it out in the office before ordering it. It has worked for some, not for others. Opening the bottom buckle has been effective for many with abdominal complaints. I've been also told that putting it on backwards while your child is on the floor/couch/bed works as well. I hope this helps. Randy
