My husband made a box for him to be buried in and he also made a cross. Pets are just as much a part of the family!! Deb A

Guest guest
Dear , So sad! Loosing a pet is very hard for adukts and even more for our children. Two years ago our beloved dog was euthanized, he had a huge tumor and he was 13 years old, when Charlie my hubby came home w/o him it was terrible. Venanzio at the time was around 4 may be 5, said to Charlie, " you took him to the doctor to make him better! " It was so sad. I hope you find another cat at the pet shop. Guest guest
Oh, I am SOOOOO sorry, !! I have tears just reading it--my kids lost their first " real " pet (besides the fish) two weekends ago, when one of our hamsters died, and that was hard. We buried Peanut in the back yard, and my daughter planted lilies on his grave. We all cried. BUT, when one of our beloved cats or dogs dies, it is going to be unbelievably hard. I lost my dog when I was 16 after having him for 13 years, and I remember yet how awful it was. I still cry when I look at his picture or his statue (my mom painted a ceramic statue of him), which now sits in my china cabinet. My heart aches for you, and I hope you find a kitten that is as wonderful as Lexi was to you guys! Guest guest
, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I am glad, however, that you buried her in your yard. I think this will help your kiddos deal with her death better. Last year in April, we had to have our cat of 16 years put to sleep. I was there the day he was born and I held him when he took his last breath. He is buried on my parents farm. I bought the black plastic edging that looks like wrought iron, to surround him - and my Momma keeps a flower garden on his grave. My Grandmother had just died the month before - she was my last grandparent - and that was very hard for to take in. She still talks about them - and she has it in her mind that 'Pearl (my mamaw) is taking care of 'Pooter' in Heaven'. Guest guest
Whatever it takes to make the pain easier. I can't imagine loosing our dog. She is only 3 years old but we have had her since she was 6 weeks old. She is a major part of our family. Like one of the kids. They give us such comfort in times of need and never ask for any in return just a treat now and then and a friendly pat. Guest guest
So very, very true, . When my dog died, my dad buried it on the farm, but didn't tell us where he buried him, and still won't. He is of the thought that it would have made it harder for us--which is just silly, but try telling him that! Well, yesterday, we lost another pet--one of our birds, Chewy. She hadn't shown any signs of illness, but she was gone yesterday after school. She had been out that morning chirping away while riding around on a's shoulder, so I don't know what happened. But now she is buried out back beside Peanut the hamster... Guest guest
Thanks, ! We have three others--MelloYello, Sandy Cheeks, and Chirpy. MelloYello lived in the same cage as Chewy, the one that died, and he was SOOOO lonely!! He totally freaked out when I had to reach in the cage to get Chewy to bury him. We ended up bringing him down here to the frontroom and putting him in the same cage as the other two--they played together before, so they already were familiar with each other. He seems to be adapting well. Now last night, I noticed my orange/black marbled molly fish disappeared out if its tank! He was there when I fed them in the morning! I still have my two of my black mollies, but over the last couple months, my fish have been " disappearing " --into thin air! I used to have 6 black mollies. If I didn't know better, I'd think that my kitties were going " fishing " , but not only does the tank have a lid that is always shut, whenever we're not home or at night, the cats go downstairs so that they CAN'T go fishing or hamster hunting or bird-stalking! LOL So I know it's not them. Hmmmm...guess it's those " Borrowers " that live in our walls that keep taking all my silverware and Tupperware, too! LOL BTW--did you get a new kitten? We are getting another one this weekend--this time, Cody is picking out, as he puts it, " my very own kitten, that I don't have to share with bossy a! " LOL LOL We're going shopping for it today, as he is home sick from a low-grade fever last night, but the fever is gone and he feels great, but the school has a 24-hour fever-free policy (that most parents don't listen to!), so he gets a " vacation day " with Mom! Our kitten is a little white fluffball with long hair--now he's working on a name! :-) S., mom to Cody (7, pwcf, nissen for severe reflux, malnutrition, ADHD), DJ (9, nocf, asthma, ADD), and a (14, nocf, ADHD) Re: pet died > > > > > > , > > I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Guest guest
, No we haven't got one yet. Apparently kittens are usually born around Nov. so we will wait till we come back from our MAW trip then we will look into it. I couldn't believe the price of kittens. The pet shops charge $40. with nothing done to the cat, but the Animal Welfare League charge $55 but the kittens are desexed, vaccinated and wormed. Guess where were going to get ours from? I hope Cody feels better soon. Re: pet died Thanks, ! We have three others--MelloYello, Sandy Cheeks, and Chirpy. Guest guest
All of ours have either been giveaways from friends, or we've literally " found " them--one from Grandma's farm, one from a friend's cat's batch, one we found under the hood of a car (with his little paws burned from the radiator!), one we found crying under a pickup across the street from our house, and our last one my husband found while working on a tower in the country, along with his little sibling. Those two both have disabilities, which is probably why they got dropped off out in the country (cerebellar hypoplasia--sort of like cerebral palsy). If you lived around here--not to mention in the same country, LOL-- you could have Snowstorm's (the name Cody decided on for his new little kitten he's getting) little sister!
