Guest guest
Well we got home so late last night that I crashed pretty much upon walking into the house. I had class all day today and then had to help my mom get her x-rays and stuff for her Dr's appt tomorrow. Im just walking in from this morning. ARGH Anyways.... Jordan had another sweat test done yesterday. His results were not as high as they were on the first test but high enough to have the DR's concerned. It was a 58 this time around. 60 is + and under 40 is - They did chest x-rays and a throat culture. They also took some blood to do a DNA test of some kind. We have to go back in 3 weeks and have another sweat test done as well as stool testing and some other testing that he didnt get into. They gave Jordan 5 different meds to take. 2 inhalers, a nose spray, zantac, and a latate medicine. He is also to continue his zyrtex and singular. The dr's told me that they didnt want to give me a diagnosis just yet but that they were leaning towards Jordan having CF but possibly only a mild case of it. This simply means that he will not be sick or have a rough life unless I fail to keep up the daily medicine and a few other simple daily tasks. They will probally give Jordan some type of enzymes the next time we go up. They also said that they want to do a CT on his sinus cavity and possible remove his adnoids(spelling) in the near future. I am going to try to go to the clinic myself tomorrow. All this stress is really starting to take it's toll on me. Im getting really sick and throwing up and my muscles hurt in every place on my body. I have had a tension headache since Monday afternoon and it will not go away. Im getting really run down and I can't let that happen because I have to take care of Jordan. Thanks for everyone that has done so much for me and Jordan and that could even include sending us an email. They really keep my spirits up and keep me going. Thank you all. Guest guest
Dear Rhonda, I am so very sorry you will have a positive Dx for Jordan. We all know that feeling. I do know that it will be better for you all once your getting into the routine they are setting up for you all. It will be come very routine for you But it will always be something a mommy worries over. BUT, you would be always concerned no matter what it was for your precious wee one. :) Good mommies are that way .....that's what you are a good mommy. Now all the doc is doing , saying , etc . sounds like a very kind person & he isn't keeping his head in the sand & IS checking every way he can. ---THAT IS SUPER........ So much happens daily in the care , etc. Mush is being done & you & your family will work thru all this. Have I sent you any literature-tapes Or maybe the clinic has. I send much to many & cant remember how got what , soo, let me know :) Best wishes for all your family from one of your CYBER family , LOVE & HUGS, GrandmoMBEV Fw: UPDATE on Jordan Well we got home so late last night that I crashed pretty much upon walking into the house. Guest guest
Gal, you have to take care of yourself too. Maybe you should schedule an appointment with the chiropractor. They always help me when I'm feeling the way you describe. Dawn mom of 4, 7 and under, the youngest wcf
Guest guest
well we have only got insurance for the baby. We dont have any for me and DH. I need to get something done though because I am about to die. EVERY part of my body is hurting really badly. I am getting major headaches and throwing up as well. I know that it is all just from the stress of Jordan, my mom, my grandma, and college along with all the every day things. I am so sick though. I was going to go to an outreach clinic here in town but they told me that they charged 85.00 + any meds they give you. I dont have that much ;( So i will just have to deal with this. Anyone have any cheap stress relievers? Rhonda Check out my new online business!! Guest guest
Bev, You did send me some information on CF but I havent had the chance to open it up yet. I have been so busy with taking my mom back and forth to the dr's as well as going to college. I have a test almost everyday next week *sighs* I am having a really hard time concentrating on things right now so I am hoping I do well on the tests. Thank you for all your support. It is a bit overwhelming with all the meds that jordan is now taking. It's going to take a bit to get used to it for him and me. thanks to all of you that are there to help us get through this. Guest guest
Ok guys, please don't laugh at me...my stress reliever/stomach soother is so dumb. I don't know why it works. I do know it isn't just me as it has worked for my kids and several friends I was brave enough to share it with. Get a jar of mentholatum...open it...inhale the vapors until you don't feel sick anymore... I use it for sick or nervous stomach. I can't take tums/peptobismal or anything like that as I seem to be allergic to them and throw up anyway. If you are throwing up a lot you could be having headaches from dehydration. Drink gatoraid or eat pedialyte popscicles and keep smelling the menthalatum to hold it all down..... Ok, now you can all laugh. Guest guest
RHONDA, I am so sorry your having such a rough time right now. Just think what the end of this week will be like. TEST WILL BE OVER .......then you'll have a wee bit of time before the next ones. Soooooooo,, Jordan will begin doing his thing. Kids do go thru this " eating bug " stuff. That is what we called it . only wanted rice......YUCK. (alone that is) So, we just kept on her . It wasn't until she was about 11. I asked her one morning at breakfast ........ don't you ever want any boobs, ?? She said really disgusted .OH, GRANDMOM!!! " . All laughed & then she did too them , & said she would eat some cereal. Her sisters and a few cousins were there too .We were there visiting (N.C) & I always was the one up with the kids early & doing breakfast with them...ERIN is a class clown, so she ate it up & let all know eat spoon full . She loves to be the center of attention (still does at 19+ ):) hehe.. She never has forgotten that . asked me for 's Secret stuff last year -----said Grandmom, The cereal worked & I need some new bras:):)Soooooo, the point of my story , is :----THIS TOO, WILL PASS. your doing great & have heard from some super ideas. Guest guest
Well we are home. We went to Columbus yesterday and it is really wearing us all out. His sweat test came back at 57 this time. Still really high. His thoart culture came back + for Staph but they said that it could have been cause by other things. The blood work they did they check for 80 strands of CF but it all came back -. They took more blood to do the 500 strand testing for CF. They still would not give me a yes he has CF or no he doesnt have CF. They said they could not do that until he had 2 scores of below 40(-) or 2 scores above 60(+) I am confused as to what the DR said. He said that with age Jordan's test results could go up or they could go down. anyone?? We have to go back again on Nov 4 again for another sweat test and to find out the results of his stool sample. They told us to not give him the pedisure because it was causing the dirrehea(like Meliss said) and that he didnt' need it right now. They told me to just get a chewable vitamin and give it to him. Well anyways that is all of it up to this point. I think. I am so brain dead right now it's not funny. *sighs* I need some SLEEP! Rhonda Check out my new online business!! I know that the trip is a long one, but I am glad that you are coming to Columbus. I was out of town last week, but I think that I will be in town on Nov. 4th. Please let me know how I can help.
