Guest guest
Hello there, I can reiterate what others have said! First, welcome to this group. I know you will them as supportive as I have myself. I hope it will be of some comfort to know that others do understand what you are suffering. I'm not sure if you have been prescribed enzymes such as Creon? If you have malabsorption, which could be indicated by gas, diarrhoea, weight loss etc, the enzymes can help a lot. I expect you've been told to avoid all and any alcohol? Most CPers find low fat, small meals helpful. Some people do take the antioxidants ANTOX, which were developed at Manchester Royal Infirmary, UK. Some docs like them, others are more sceptical. I'm sure people who do take them will post as well. Have you had pain killers prescribed? They will also help, obviously, and you can use heat to ease the pain also, eg. warm baths, hot water bottles etc. Sadly, CP can be a painful condition. As for the pain itself....well...in addition to the main, typical pancreatic pain radiating from the epigastric arae and often into the back, patients feel all sorts of different types and location of pain. I don't think two cases are identical! Hope to hear from you soon, With good wishes, Fliss
