Guest guest
my four year old grandaughter was recently diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. after she was put on meds; bronchial dialators, breathing treatments, enzymes... we noticed a remarkable improvement in her digestion of food and energy level. she grew 3/4 " and gained nearly a pound on the enzymes. her behavior has been terrible and her pattern of sleep is out the window. any advice is greatly appreciated by anyone who has experienced the same problem my thanks kathy
Guest guest
Kathy, Is your granddaughter on Albuterol? It is one of the meds my daughter is on and I swear that it makes her hyper! Also, all the new things that your granddaughter is encountering can be scary. This is a big adjustment. Just handle it as you would have before you all knew that she had CF. Bad behavior is bad behavior if you have CF or not! Also the sleep issues can throw my daughter off too! Guest guest
kathy, is the grandbaby on steroids? my son gets way wired and can bearly sit still long enought to sleep. albuterol also speeds him up but the effects of it usually wear off in about 45min.-to an hour. dani
Guest guest
Kathy, I don't know if it's related, but my grand daughter is really full of energy shortly after taking her ADEK vitamins. We now give them to her earlier in the day. Guest guest
Thank you for the reply and yes she is on albuteral. Caitlin is actually my Grandaughter, my son's daughter. He is handling her bad behavior; it is just so hard because she is out of control and still needs to be diciplined for it. She has nights where she sleeps for almost 12 hours straight and those that she is so wired she only sleeps a couple of hours. Hopefully she will adjust to all the new meds and learn some coping skills down the line. Right now, she has difficulty even getting along well with other children due to her behavior. Thanks Again, Kathy
