Guest guest
Hello Heidi nd all! I called my GP to-day and she is making a hospital appointment for me to have the glucose tolerance test asap. I finally tried that glucometer as well! I bought it before christmas1 First test, 90 mins after meal, shows 5.4 which I think is OK but I'll have to test at intervals over the next 24 hours. Can't imagine yet managing this pricking and testing business in the middle of the early morning rush to get out but I'm sure I will improve with practice! (Not sure if our respective measuring systems are the same.) With good wishes to all, Fliss, UK

Your measuring systems are different than ours, I will have to find a conversion chart to see what that 5.4 actually means. But I'm glad you're giving the glucometer some practice. Don't worry, with practice you'll be pricking and testing faster than it takes to apply lipstick. Some meters are faster than other's, too. Mine gives a reading in less than 5 seconds, others can take much longer. Keep up the good work, maybe if you perfect it a miracle will give you a reason never to need to use it!
