Guest guest
I was a nurse for 9 years, & when I first started having trouble, the doc I worked for first made me feel like the pain was in my head, Then when I told the nurses at my own docs office, they made me feel stupid for saying I felt nauseated " all the time. " I can get so worked up when I hear about comments like the one made to you by the doc you work for. I've been sick for 10 years, & I've been accused of being an alcoholic, drug addict, & just having things in my head. I struggled for 2 years to keep working. In my case, stress just makes my symptoms worse, & about 4 years ago I finally swallowed my pride & got on disability. But you are the only one that knows if you are able to continue working or not. I think for some people, it might even be therepeutic for them to work, at least part time. About taking your pain meds & working...that's another individual thing. If you've never been on narcotics before, you will probably have the grogginess that would make it difficult to concentrate well. If the pain is tolerable for now, maybe you could wait until the weekend to see how your body reacts to it? Just a suggestion. About the Antox...I just heard about it today. So I don't know any more than you do at this point. But be sure to read the post from Heidi regarding antioxidants. She just posted it. I wish I knew more regarding herbal therapies but anything that I find out, I will definatley share here. Stick with that low fat diet, & avoid alcohol. For me, finding what I can eat has just been a lot of tria & error. If fruit hurts you, then stay away from it. Or maybe don't eat it raw. And in the evenings, fix yourself a little " survival kit " of foods you know don't hurt you & that you can snack on. Then just take a bite whenever you can. I hope that helps some.
