Guest guest
Hello Tammy, I'm sorry you are suffering. The fact that the diarrhoea has started now that you are not taking enzymes might indicate that you do have malabsorption. I'm sure the faecal test will show whether or not this is the case. Then they will be able to put you back on enzymes if necessary. There may be another cause of the malabsorption. There are a number of conditions which can cause some similar symptoms. On the other hand, your docs may decide that there is something going on with the pancreas after all, even if, thank God, there is no obvious damage. If the pain and diarrhoea are too distressing you must not go back to work. Could you try to explain to your employers that you are having a test which entails your feeling poorly until it is over? Do you think your increased pain could be the result of the ercp? When I had an ercp the " attack " did not begin immediately. I went home quite happily but awoke the next day in the worst pancreatic pain I had ever had. It lasted a few days. Tammy, I know it's debilitating trying to cope with pain and coming to terms with not being able to do " normal " things. Just hang on and hope that after this next test the docs are more definite. I think the fact that they are doing the test is quite heartening. Could you contact the pain management doctor yourself and have another appointment? Or could you simply select another pain management doc? Maybe your family doctor could help you do this? I'm sorry you're disappointed after being so pleased with the positive outcome of the ercp. Hopefully things will turn round very soon. With good wishes, Fliss
