Guest guest
I posted this once but it vanished into space. I used to recover ercp patients for a few years. Every single one of the had manometry measurements taken. Its standard of practice. The doc up there didn't and that does not give me a great deal of faith. You had your gall bladder removed. that was the start of all my problems too. Thats the start of it for a vast majority of cp patients. Sphincter of Odi dysfunction, papilliary stenosis, and post cholecystectomy syndrome are all conditions following a lap chole. You doc did not check any of that while he was down there. I would consider that an inadequate examination. The DDC at MUSC is the 14 best in the country. I work there and could very easily find a job closer to home, but Ibelieve in the docs and have seen more then my share of miracles. I love that; and I would be there right now, if I could. Tammy I dont want to tell you your business, but I dont think I would go back to that doc. Rob Hawes is the pancreatologist at Musc, he is Dr. Cotton right hand man, and he is also my doc. Call 843 792-2123 and ask for the scheduler for the Digestive Disease Ceenter to make an appt with Dr. robert Hawes, give them my name as a reference. Cant hurt, besides ton is pretty this time of year and we all can meet. How's that for gravy! Let me know what you think
Guest guest
Tammy, I didn't even require a referral from a doctor to see Dr Cotton. I contacted his personal assistant, and she told me to fax my records (brief summary) to him and he would read it through and if he believed he could help me, would call me back with an appointment day and time. I ended up going to see Dr Lehman in Indianapolis instead, as I was able to get into see him sooner, but I just found his phone number and email on the musc website. I do think that it is some insurance companies who request a referral be made (else, they won't pay towards the doctor's fees)..so it might be wise to see if you need one for your insurance first...
