" loose, fresh, pure dates " ... sound like they're fine.... as long as you're absolutely sure nothing has been added. I think it's a matter of what type of date is *usually* available more widely to the rest of us. Patti Re: advice needed on medjool dates Is there really a ban on other types of dates? Or is that a reflection of the kinds of dates available throughout the country? I live in the part of the country where dates are grown and there are a wide variety of loose and " fresh " pure dates, without the sugar and the special packing and all.
