Guest guest
I have been sitting here all afternoon just wondering why on earth I ever went down there. He did not tell me a thing. Pretty much just went over the same scenarios, options. The Whipple, well I dont want that and we discussed it, but then I asked him about the changes in the ducts, in 6 months it had spread to the ducts causing stenosis, dilation and clubbing from the body to the tail. I dont think a whipple would do much for that. Taking the panc out here and shhipping it out to cincy for islet harvesting then sending those cells back here for implation. He didn't know how an inplantation like that would be physically performed, so he couldn't answer that. It would also have to be taken before the Institutional Revue Board before any of this could even be started. He also said and I quote " do you really want to be the first person to have it done here " ; he's got a point there. Well I asked about seeing Dr. Cotton and he said that was a good idea and he would work on that. If Cotton even looks at my chart and make a recomendation, I'll be happy. He is one of the worlds foremost authorities on cp. Well he finally said that the cincy doc had a block of films and reports from my most recent hospitalization. Not the prior ercp's and mrcp's to see how much had changed in less then 6 months or any of the manometry reports. So I believe he may send him a letter with that info. We talked about other hospitals that do tp/ict and he didn't know of any other then cincny and Minnosota but thought Miami did. So I guess I'll be looking into other places, if any of ya'll know where they perform tp/ict please send me a note. He told me not to loose weight and fussed a bit about my noncompliance with the tube feedings. I asked him if I could go back to work and he said no. However, I have another appt with him in 2 weeks. So I did get the worse news, the one I feared most, nothing....there's nothing.
