Guest guest
Dr. R. That was so interesting - it's unbelievable how clear the pictures are. My only suggestion would be to put a next picture link on the big picture pages so you don't have to go back to the page with all the samll pictures to access the next big picture. - waiting in Chicago Hotels > > > > I have a date of September 27 ( Yippeeeee ! ) and need to make > reservations for that week, but have no a clue where to go. Guest guest
Dr. R... This is great! I especially liked the links to the larger versions of the pictures at the left, which are very educational. The small ones are a bit difficult to make heads or tails of, but the larger ones are great! Guest guest
Dear Dr. R, You know doc I went thru the whole test and answered all the questions except one and while I was looking up the material AOL kicked me off and p----ed me off also. It wasnt too bad a questionarire, it does make you research for the answers, probably a good tool. Gee does that mean you want me to do it all over again? I hope not , I was just trying it out. If you do that do you still have to do the 11 pages, I have 7 already done. I was going to surprise you and answer them all . lol Well anyway, could you please answer me about the concusion I recently recieved in a car accident and if I need to have a certain waiting period because of it to undergo anesthesia. Thanks Pat Iurato (the crash-test dummy) , Nevada pre op
Guest guest
Dr. Rutledge....will the test take the place of the letter or will it be a new step included in the process? Guest guest
I'll say it again, I can't believe how clear the photos are! > I am " considering " a preop test for patients considering the surgery. > Some of the preop letters look similar and it would be a good way to > generate discussion: > Check out http://clos.net/forms/test.htm > Let me know what you think. > (Be nice) So, we'aren't always nice, huh? To facilitate discussion, I think the questions should be numbered. For " How much weight should you expect to lose at one month? and How much weight should you expect to lose at three months?' My cursory review of patient e-mails indicates some patients may not understand 'average' weight loss. Perhaps, if it said something like 'How much weight does the average MGB patient lose after one month... after three months? According to the patinet manual, what is the most weight lost by an MGB patient after one month? The least?' " After MGB surgery, you much weight should YOU expect to lose after one/three " Or some such.... I think it is telling that the ASBS didn't come out itself and sponsor the phantom MGB info site, and that only eight of the membership endorsed that site (nine if you count A's behind the scene cowardly participation.) So, I'm guessing at least some other surgeons are, at the very least, intrigued by MGB. How could they not be? If you said " Why don't SOME other surgeons like the MGB?' it might be more appropriate. " List at least five serious risks of surgery.' Do you mean surgery in general, or the MGB? I think the last six questions should use the term 'MGB surgery' in them. For example: 'After MGB surgery how much weight has the average patient lost after one month? And the last question should use it twice. Or some such.... > > New stuff on the MGB description page: > http://clos.net/op/descrptn.htm I still can't get over how clear all the photos are. I would never have thought of adding the times, I like it. I'm assuming you will be adding more 'letters' to some of the photos. > > New Old Loop vs. the Mini-Gastric Bypass page: > http://clos.net/old-loop.htm Do you want to add the words " and potential cancers " Also, first paragraph, last sentence needs rewording. Guest guest
ok Doc that test is pretty good. I have gone to other bariatric surgeons and they also have a little test they like you to do. After reading all the material, i feel like I can answer pretty much all the ? with out to much trouble. The only one I really couldn't answer and be sure of was the reason other docs dont like the surgery. I have read what they have said about the chance of cancer and then Ihave read what you had to say. Also I know the other doctors like the roux-en-y (Why I do not know) because it has been around awhile and they do not like change. Can you make that one clearer so If you decide to test us we can get that one correct too. Thank you hugs marg
Guest guest
Dr. R., The preop test should be a breeze for anyone who has invested the time to thoroughly review the patient education manual. A better educated consumer should be a happier consumer.
