Guest guest
W - I am not getting the progressive stenting. I am not sure why. I am going to e-mail him to talk about it. Do you have pancreas divisum? It could be that due to the long distance I travel, he wants to just try to pack as many stents in, and then I expel them (when? I don't have a clue!!!) They are just " gone " when I have the follow-up X-ray done three weeks post-placement. Too bad we won't be there the same time so we could meet and share stories in person. Guest guest
Nacy and others, My pain level has lowered tremendously. I went to an acupuncturist and had a treatment today - WONDERFUL! I have already stopped the oxycontin and am on 500 mg of vicodin every four hours. It is doing fine. I only took an hour nap today and ate normal food, and feel fine. I am so happy to feel this good already - three days post procedure. I'll check the Hopkins web site on the Puestow surgery. I am to meet with the surgeon at the IU Med Center tomorrow a.m. to discuss the surgery and my specific case. I hope to have many more answers. I still would like to hear from anyone who has had this surgery. I think one of my frustrations is due to FERPA and HIPPA, we can't get names of people who have had successful recoveries after these surgeries and people we can talk to about it. I will still be in the midwest until August 1st. We will go to Detroit, MI tomorrow to visit my daugher and her new husband for a few days, and then back to Lafayette, IN for a family reunion on Saturday and fly out to PHX on Sunday a.m. Cecilia Mesa, AZ
