Guest guest
Hello there Heidi, I am so glad you have been feeling better and I hope you have a wonderful day with your daughter choosing THE dress! What a pleasure for a Mum!1 I understand the point about the teaching hospitals, in a way. I suppose there is always a balance to strike. If it's a good university teaching hospital, you know they will be at the cutting edge (excuse the pun!) of surgical and medical research and are unlikely to have been left behind. They attract the top profs after all. I must admit I might be inclined to worry a little about other hospitals just in case they are either insufficiently up-to-date or possibly lacking in top specialists in an area as rare as CP. On the other hand, it's true that teaching hospitals are always running research and clinical trials and patients are needed for these! I suppose on the whole I prefer the teaching hospitals for something like CP but maybe not for more routine matters. I don't suppose you can generalise; it must depend on which docs happen to be in which hospital. Whatever happens, I wish you the best possible treatment and I know you will weigh everything very carefully before coming to a decision on surgery, for example. You do deserve a pain-free time. It's our dream, isn't it? I hope the current meds are sorted as well. I'm sure your docs know that you are not going to exaggerate your need for help with pain! Enjoy your weekend Heidi and keep well! With very good wishes, Fliss
