Guest guest
Hello All, I have idiopathic CP. Anyone have experience with acupuncture? I am skeptical, but went to my first appointment on Monday. It is certainly a different kind of medicine. Whatever the acupuncturist did on Monday agitated the pancreas because on the way home, I was in pain and felt the urge to vomit. She has further restricted my diet to no sugar, nothing cold, no raw vegetables, and obviously no fat. I was surprised by the no sugar and the raw vegetables. She was the only one so far that could explain the muscle aches before an attack. She said that the spleen controls the muscles so it made sense to her that I would feel achey. I decided to try acpuncture for relief from daily bouts of pain and nausea. I am currently taking MS contin 30 mg, demerol as needed, allegra, benadryl and pancrease. I think I have tried every pain med out there, including using neurontin off label. This disease is so tiring I am hoping this will work for me. What do you think? I have made a 6-week commitment to her and won't stop taking the prescription meds until we see if this works or may use in combination with acupuncture. Don't know. I guess it is a wait and see, but would be interested in hearing from others who may tried alternative medicine. Thanks, Pat
