Guest guest
I've looked at the pecanbread site, and the handy stage 1-5 chart. A few questions: 1-There's no mention of dairy. Is all allowable dairy okay from the beginning? And what about the initial 2-5 day diet - is dairy ok then too? We currently eat dairy and are fine with it. 2-On the fruits and veggies, I can see why some would be later than others such as little tiny seeds in strawberries not really being able to deseed them, and the cabbage and onion family being later, but are most fruits/veggies listed in that order because in general people tolerate them in that order? For example, I know I'm ok with eggplant (stage 3) and mushroom (2). Why wouldn't I start them at the same time? Or would I? 3-I know that the diet is highly individual, but is there a general idea someone could give me on how long a stage might last? 4-What symptoms have you noticed going away as you've gotten better, that you might be able to use as a guideline besides the diahrea? I ask because I don't have any, but my gut is plenty messed up from celiac. Any other easy-to-read markers that might be useful for me to note? Thanks, Merika
Guest guest
Hi Merika, The delay for introducing dairy was made especially for children with autism. This was a special situation because many autistic children had been dairy free prior to SCD. Elaine approved of the immediate use of dairy for most other situations.
