Guest guest
, I have been reading some of your posts and I am also a nurse and new to the group. I am newly diagnosed with CP and have had minimal testing. I am about to ask for a 2nd opinion, as my GI just said take the enzymes and see me in a year. I have a lot of respect for his education (Yale grad), but he does not specialize in pancreatitis. I have never had stones on ultrasound, only a slow to empty gallbladder on Tech Hyda scan. I have always been fat intollerant & had trouble with my blood sugar dropping below 60 on occasion. I still do not know why I have CP. My amylase is only 112 with a normal range of 0-99. My pain now that I am on enzymes is minimal a 1 or 2 out of 10, it never was much above a 4 or 5. I have been taking a lot of supplements and have with in the last 3 months brought my cholesterol down to 181 from 266 with supplements. I also have a very good freind that is an accupuncturist and Dr. of Oriental Med. (I have not started accupuncture yet.) I have had " Lymphatic Drainage " treatments and " Body Talk " treatments for my pain with good results. I have the MediFocus Guide, for CP and it has centers listed that specialize in research. I live in Florida, on the West Coast mid state. My question is now where do I go and what do I ask? Thanks, PD
