Guest guest
Hi , I would be delighted if you send me pictures of your Wedding. I can't wait to see everything. From the way you described everything, I can't decide which word but describes your description of everything. Elegant or gorgeous, so I'm using the both. From everything you described it will be the social event of the summer, I'm sure. I sound like something that a movie star or a famous person would have. I do have one question? What is a bridesmaid tea? We don't do them in our area, and I was just a little curious about it? Is kind of a party for the bridesmaid, like a thank you for being in the wedding. That is very nice of your sister-in-law to offer and I think you should take her up on it and sit back and enjoy the day. I am beginning to learn that people usually don't after to help you out, unless then really mean it. It has taken me many years to figure this one out. I guess I use to think they did it because they felt like they had too, but I have found out that way of thinking is wrong, and now I more likely to say thank you and take up someone offer. Maybe it has come from me not being able to do as much as I use to do. You mention about the bridesmaid charm for the cake, well believe it or not, my daughter wanted to do that since her cake was so big, but she went to a wedding a year before of a relative and they had use the charms, so she didn't want them to think she was copying so she decided not to use them. I can't believe that Nikki has had 5 showers. She must be able to furnish a couple of houses. There won't be nothing left to buy her for a wedding present, except a house to put all her gifts in. With 5 showers, you all must have a very large families or know everyone in the south. had just 2, a large shower that about 70 people show up for and then her sister had a small personal shower here , for just family and the bridal party. From you post to someone else. You said that Nikki graduates in May and Her Wedding is the end of May. What a busy month that will be for you all. That sound almost as bad as when got Married on June 5, she sister Graduated in May , so I had that party to do for Elissa Graduation plus my mothers birthday, and then her personal shower was here on May 25. That was a busy time for us, but a very enjoyable time too. You dress sounds like something like I had wanted, but I was much heavier than I'm now, about 25 pound heavier and very short. So we decided that a straight dress would show off too much of my stomach and butt, so I went for a long dress that had Short sleeve in a pinkish-light mauve color and it was one piece but looked 2 piece because the top had lace over it and the skirt was a-line with satin underneath with matching chiffon over it, I had matching shoes and purse too. I did look nice and my dress looked good with the bridesmaids dresses. Would you believe of all the dresses out there, Her future Mother-in-law, basically pick the same dress, but hers was 2 piece, but look one piece. She told us that it was long floor length, but she is tall and when she showed up at the church it was tea length, but it didn't matter for the pictures. I showed her mine and she took out her and laugh that we basis picked out the same dress. She said that she would take it back if we wanted her too. But I told me no, It was day, not mine. But the closer to the wedding it got, the more it bother me. I wanted and even looked at a different dress, but couldn't find anything that would go so well with the bridesmaids dresses. After all I can to realize I was being childish and no one would even remember what I wore, they would only remember, how beautiful look in her dress. After all with us in the same color, our dresses wouldn't clash in the pictures. They wore a pale pink off the shoulder long A-line dress that had Flowing chiffon over the dress. Very pretty. She had her colors of pale pink and silver and white. It was a nice wedding. I'll have to find some pictures to send to you. Her cake had a fountain in the middle of it with pink water, with many layers if cake. It was really beautiful. The only problem that we had, and it wasn't really a problem, we could have used a smaller cake. We did have all lot of cake left over. But we did freeze it. So it did get used up. I thought that everyone would eat cake and they didn't. The caterer did give us a very nice complement, she told me of all the wedding she has ever done that we had less food left over, than anyone has ever done. She said that we did a great job with our guest list. My daughter and I were talking about it today and she said that only 25-30 people who said that they were coming didn't show up. We felt that we all lot, but the caterer did make us feel better about it. One think that no one knew about , not even my husband, only my mother help me pull it off. I want to surprise her when she came out of the church, so I had a man standing there with a cage with 2 white doves for them to release. It was neat, but she kind of nervous when coming out of the church and a strange man comes up the steps at her with a cage, she wasn't sure what was in there, but when she found out, she was very pleased. I did tell the photographer ahead of time so he could get a picture of them. Her church was very fussy about what you could and couldn't throw at the bride and groom. She wanted something different, so we ordered pink with silver engraving with their names and wedding date on them. They were horns that you blow when they came out of the church.they even had her castle on it. It was a fun idea and something other than bubbles and bell, that everyone uses around here. Her invitations were really neat. They had a castle and a coach, like Cinderella on them in light pink with silver lettering on it. We had a tiny scroll at each place setting at the reception that was light pink and silver lettering and it was rolled up like a scroll with a silver fake(plastic ) wedding ring around it and inside it told a little story of how she was our little girl and now she has grown up and was married the man of her dreams and how we were proud to have him in our family now and it thank everyone for being part of their special day and it was from Ed & me. Many people commented afterwards on how nice this was. Then at each place setting she wanted like a favor but something different and one of her bridesmaid suggested that we take 2 Hershey kisses and glue the bottoms together ( so we had our silver) then we covered them with pink tulle and attracted a stem to then take florist tape and cover the stems so the look like a Rose. Then they had pink ribbon and a card with their names and wedding date on it. You should have seem my house the Wednesday night before the Wedding, there was the 4 of us and and his mom and dad, all helping make these favors. It was like an assemble line, as we had to make 250 of them. But we all had so much fun making them . She waited to just before the wedding to make them, because she wanted the candy to be fresh. They did turn out to be really cute. I only had 1 already put together, to figure out how to make them. It's a good thing I " me a kind of crafty person, who loves make crafts. My new venture is making candles. So far I have only make container or the tart types. But I enjoy making them. For Christmas I made candles for all our friends, along with cookie dough mix in a jar, and homemade cocoa mix in a jar, along with cute tag saying what everything was for and how to use it. I made 25 of these gift set for Christmas present. They did take a while, but I do find it fun to do on my good days. Well, our hockey won tonight and we have home ice advantage for the play-off. Well, I better get to bed or else I won't be able to get up fairly early in the morning, as It's Birthday- Well it actually now her birthday and I want to make her a candle and a basket of silk spring flowers for Easter , as a little extra special gift along with the money we will give her to get clothiers or whatever she wants. Thank you so much for sharing you daughter Wedding story with me. It truly sounds like it's going to be a fairytale Wedding . I'm sorry to bore you with all the rest of Wedding detail, but I just love Wedding and to find out what other people do in different parts of the country. That's nice that you both don't have to be at the church so early in the day to get your hair done and have picture taken. That will be a great help for you both. You can sit outside on the patio in the sun, relaxing & sipping the Mint Juleps, the south of so famous for. Whatever they are? I have only seem them in the movies. But they look good, The non-alcoholic one, of course. Thanks so much for sharing your daughter story and all your joy about it with me. Please send me pictures to our e-mail address- (ED & I only have one ,I should get my own)anyway it ehall@... Would you mind if I printed out the details about your daughter wedding and let my read about it. I sure she would really enjoy reading about it, since it sounds truly amazing and a very wonderful day that your Nikki will never forget. One quick question, how long have you been planning all of this, to have everything so well, planed this far in advance? I think 3 months before her wedding we were still making changes, but I truly feel like that's because we had too much time to plan for it. We will pray for a beautiful sunny, with a gentle breeze for her Wedding day. Sorry for another book. What kind of degree will Nikki have? What does her future husband do? Will they be living in your town? No more books, I promise. Take Care, Louie in WV
