Guest guest
Hi Robin, I too worked for many years with this illness. I know what you mean about you supervisor and how she is treating you. I had a similar situation happen to me while I was working. I had migraines very bad before the pancreastitis hit me in 90. I did work most of the time and would come a home at night an go to bed with a throbbing headache. I even had experimental surgery for them because they were that bad and I was ready to try anything to get back to normal. But that another story, I won't go into today. Back to what I meant to tell you. I worked in a department store as a Dept. Area Manager for 8 years. I always got excellent reviews. Well, in 88 they decided to down size the area manager and didn't that as many as they had, so they was a girl that only worked there for a year, but had her so called college degree, but didn't have any common sense and really wasn't that nice to the people who worked under her. Well, they took my area away from me and give it to her and I was suppose to work on the floor some do all her paper work, sort of be an assistant to her. But she always resented me and especially when someone would come to me with a problem, so I told everyone on the floor to ask her every little question and whenever they had a problem let her solve it, since she was the boss. The people who worked under me just loved me as well as the whole floor did. I treat them as my friends and would anything I could to help them. When we would get new stock in, I be out there checking it in and helping them to restock the shelves. Well, I think she lasted about a year and a half, until she moved away. Well, I did finally get moved to a buyers office to be there clerical, as I did help the others buyers when I was a dept. manager too. I was never so happy to be moved in my live. Well they brought this very young sexy girl in to take the other girl place, who didn't even know what a mark down was, so I was suppose to train her and do all her paper work too. I did, but there was something about this girl, I couldn't put my finger on it, but I just didn't trust her. She reminded me of someone who would do anything to get ahead. Well, they moved her from store to store, giving her more responsibity each time. She even ended up being an asst. store Manager. Then all of a sudden, she was gone as fast as she appeared. All I knew was that the security people were involved in it. I later found out that she was stealing them blind. Well, this just go to show you, than all lot of time when a company has a good hard worker, they don't appreciate it. My heavens, I don't think our store manager, who was about 20 years older than me, even had a cold. She was a hard nose and always had her chosen few, who were up her butt all the time, I know that kind of person or will I ever be. I did my job and I did it well, be she never appreciate all my hard work. I would even bring work home at night , that need to be done and never got paid for it. So done get too upset, some supervisor just don't understand how hard it is to work, especially when you not feeling well. I can truly sympathizes with you about them taking some of your work away and treat you like a beginner, when you are such a hard worker. Just hang in there, Hopefully it will all work out or maybe something better will happen very soon. Maybe you supervisor will get transfer to another area or quite and they you will get someone who really see you for the hard worker you really are. People like your super should have to walk in you shoes for just a week and deal with all the pain and trying to work and do a good job. They probably wouldn't last a half of day, because you are a good hard worker, that is doing the best she can under some day almost unbearable pain. Is there anyway that you could work in another area at your current job, under a different supervisor. Maybe that an option. I hope that by the time you get this, your starting to feel a little better. By the way, how long have you been suffering with this. I did have to give up my job in 98 and it was one of the hardest decision I had to make, because by then I had a different job that I love. Take Care, my friend, Louie in WV
