Guest guest
You don't need a separate food bag, you need a very good thermos. I use Thermos stainless " food jars " and try to find the plain ones as the painted ones peel. (Bought a different brand once, think it was Thibaut?, and it did not work well at all despite being stainless, too.) They have short (10 oz.?) and tall (16 oz.?) ones, both are straight-side tube-shaped ones that fit an inverted mason jar so that is how I save leftovers. Preheat the thermos for a few minutes with very hot water (I boil extra water when making the mint tea for breakfast.) Spoon the hot food into the jars using a wide " canning " funnel and freeze. Move to refrigerator a day or two before you need it, as the jars crack in the microwave if nuked while frozen. Been doing this for gfcf for many years, and beginning next week when school resumes, on scd too. Does everyone warm up (or cook) the food that morning? Then how do you keep it the right temp (warm enough to not grow bacteria) until they eat?
