Welcome to the group. It IS the place to be.

While my daughter didn't get her first DOC band until she was 9.5 months, we saw amazing results. We also did cranial osteopathy while in her first band and I like to think that both helped trememdously.

Check out her blog at www.mymaysa.wordpress.com . She graduated almost a month ago now and although her head is not perfect it looks round and normal to most who look at her.

Hello! I am new to this group but hear it is THE PLACE to go to with any and all questions re: plagiocephaly. My son was diagnosed with mild plagiocephaly and moderate brachycephaly at 5 months old. We chose to do physical therapy as well as cranial sacral therapy to see if we could avoid getting a helmet. While we have gotten significant improvements, time is running out and I felt as if we should move forward with the DOC band (my son will start wearing it in 2 weeks). My fear is that I have waited too long and that we will no longer get the correction I am looking for. Has anyone started band treatment at 8 months for brachycephaly and seen decent results? Thanks so much for any responses! Happy to be here ... well, sorta ;)

My daughter started treatment at about 9 1/2 months - so you're not too late. She has Torticollis/Plagiocephaly and associated facial asymmetry. She has had her DOC band for about 6 weeks and we have seen great change already. Good luck!
