But if they get the flu then CF kids are more affected because of their CF. If they culture bacteria there is the risk of a super infection. That's why the flu shot is recommended for all pwcf and why many cf docs prescribe antibiotics with every infection, even if it's viral. Wash your hands and keep distance to prevent a contagion. In other words stay in bed and let your hubby do the rest :-)) Get Well Torsten The last time we were in clinic our doctor said that we actually have an advantage to having a one gene of CF. He said that people with one gene have a better survival rate then people that don't because the CF gene tends to help get rid of viruses better because we can deplete it out of our digestion system faster. Can you believe there is a good thing we have one gene!!!! It kind of made sense to me because my grandmother that carried the CF gene on my side lived to be 94!!!!!!
