Guest guest
Knox unflavored gelatin can be substituted for eggs I believe. Also, applesauce, homemade can be substituted for eggs. My son was egg, rice, corn, wheat, all that free for a year. I just now switched him to the SCD diet. He was on gluten free grains all that year! I found that eggs aren't that necessary if they have to be taken out of the diet, especially if there are other things they can eat. I can't remember exactly how you use the Knox unflavored gelatin for an egg substitute but I bet you could google it and find out. If I remember correctly, you take 3 packets out of a box, put so much water with that, mix it and use 3 tablespoons of the liquid...maybe someone here know exactly how to do that. Guest guest
Many kids with leaky gut will test positive for sensitivities to foods... even if they don't have an obvious reaction to them. That is up to you, whether to hold those foods out at this point. Many parents here have found that sensitivities decrease or disappear as SCD heals the gut. Are you using cow milk for the SCD yogurt? Did the tests specify cow dairy? Or goat? Or both? We recommend goat milk yogurt. There are nut and egg free recipes on the website: www.pecanbread.com Patti Allergies to eggs, peanuts, and dairy just discovered. What to feed picky 2 yr olds now?
