Guest guest
Not every single supplement is listed on our list. You have to look closely at the ingredients on the label. I don't know what they include in the peach flavoring... and I just don't have time right now to go search online to find that. If you could please post the ingredients in the fine print? Do the same on the Complete Omega. I think the Spectrum Complete hypo-allergenic version is okay. But, you kind of have to take our list of " illegal " supplement additives and go through the list on the label and check it for yourself. I can't trust my memory... but I did look at that one for someone a month or so ago... and I *think* it's okay, but please check. I personally would not use the seasoned chicken. I ONLY use plain chicken with ZERO additives... no flavorings or seasonings of any kind. I don't trust it. Patti Legal supplements I looked through the list of ill/ legal supplements but did not come across these ones: Nordic Naturals Cod liver oil (peach flavor), Nordic Naturals Complete Omega 3-6-9 Spectrum Complete hypo capsules Also, is sodium phosphate ok? We bought some seasoned chicken breasts ...chicken, water, salt and sodium phosphate. Thanks, Tumpa Reinhardt To the world you may be one person, to one person you are the world~Anonymous
Guest guest
Hi Tumpa, > I looked through the list of ill/ legal supplements but did not come across > these ones: > > Nordic Naturals Cod liver oil (peach flavor) A few years back someone contacted NN and they said the peach flavour was peach essence obtained from the skin of the peach. This would be legal. If it is still the same it is still legal. You should contact the company and check the source of the peach flavour. Please let us know what you find out. , Nordic Naturals Complete Omega > 3-6-9 This one: https://www.nordicnaturals.com/direct/prodsummary.asp?ID=34 is legal. > Spectrum Complete hypo capsules Legal > Also, is sodium phosphate ok? We bought some seasoned chicken breasts > ...chicken, water, salt and sodium phosphate. Sodium phosphate is a legal ingredient. I wouldn't recommend these chicken breasts as SCD legal. Guest guest
Sheila, I'd like to get a bit more clarification on this sodium phosphate thing. What if the chicken breasts don't claim to be seasoned. For example, you can buy a 3lb. bag of boneless skinless chicken breasts in the frozen food section at WalMart. Now, Tyson and some others say that theirs are in broth. The WalMart brand, however, says water, salt, and sodium phosphate. I would love to use these as they are less expensive and more convenient than buying my chicken from the fresh butcher section of the grocery store. Are you still concerned about the 2% rule if the chicken is not claiming to be seasoned? If it's just plain chicken breasts in the water, salt, sodium phosphate solution, would you trust it? A lot of what you are paying for in the seasoned meats is water weight, the water gets absorbed into the meat from the addition of salt and sodium phosphate. > Are you still concerned about the 2% rule if the chicken is not claiming to > be seasoned? No, I wouldn't trust the chicken breasts with sodium phosphate added. ere's a little story: I bought pork chops from the grocery store as usual. I fried them up as I normally would do. I ate them and promptly got wildly ill from them (diarrhea and bloody stools). The meat was cooked through, so it wasn't from eating it undercooked. I checked the package and it was packed that day. Then I noticed that the package said seasoned. The next day I checked with the butcher and he said Yes, they had just changed all the pork products so that from then on they would be " seasoned: water and sodium phosphate " I switched stores.
