Hi Pearl,

Here is the post (Lyris must have changed their procedures recently,

I haven't had to log in before):

" Deanna 2, Mother of Bridget

Welcome and keep reading. I found one comment in your email about

which I

would like to comment and which will probably sound like the idol-

smasher

that I seem to be:

<<<<a really hard time loading her up on such a simple sugar- I mean

potato

goes straight to sugar in your body! This is her least healthy

seeming

day. >>>>>>

I am familiar to the glycemic index and have followed this research

for

years and I do believe they have it wrong. Some of the foods

that " they "

claim do not raise blood sugar (and I think potato is one of them)

is not

because it is being digested slowly and, therefore, is not causing

the raid

rise in blood sugar resulting in the insulin spurt - well I believe

the

reason it does not raise blood glucose is because it is not feeding

the host

but feeding the bacteria. The starch in potato is diagrammed in my

book

and my contention is that for most sick people it is a no-no - what

the

patient does not digest does harm!!! "

> Sheila, I tried your links and it says you have to have an email

address to log on. Is there another way to retreive the information

about glycemic index? Thanks Pearl
