Guest guest
I don't have a lot of energy so this will be short. Basically Dr. Catalano cut the sphinkter of ODDI as my pressure was like over 180, they do surgery when it gets to 40. I ended up going into a more severe state of pancreatitis and I was on IV fluids/pain control for 8 days. The nursing care at St. Lukes was absolutely a total and complete nightmare experience for us. I highly suggest any ERCP patient staying away from floor 4EF in the North Building if at all possible. They made me suffer needlessly, and it took from Friday Morning to Sunday evening to get my pain under control among other things. My wife was so stressed about my lack of care that on the day of my discharge she suffered a stroke and then she had to be hospitalized for several days. Now, she has long term damage that can't be reversed... I found Dr. Catalano to be an excellent doctor in almost every respect. I did find his excessively brief doctor visits to be frutstrating (i.e. I am paying for his time, right?) But, I thought he gave me very high level information and I found him compassionate, kind, and competent. I liked him a lot. I am still significantly weak and still have a long way to go to recover. Guest guest
Rick: So sorry to hear that you had a bad experience at the hospital and particularly that your wife suffered a stroke with all the stress of this. Try to rest now and get better. Let us know how you're doing when you feel up to it ok? best wishes to you and your wife
