Guest guest
Here is a post I got from Lu. She will be at Mayo until next Sunday and misses everyone. Just thought I'd pass on the news to the group In a message dated 6/16/02 11:16:41 AM Pacific Daylight Time, Lu1953 writes: << Hey , I am so tired I feel like I have been run over by a tow truck. lol All I know so far is that I have lost a lot of bone mass in my hands and feet. My spinal cord had a thickening around it which they said was arthritis. But I had a MRI done yesterday. I have high blood pressure my cholesterol is too high and my liver enzymes are elevated too much, probably from the Imuran. I see Dr. Luthera this coming Friday, I hope he can help. They told me my feet and hands have arthritis in them really bad, I wonder why just there so bad? I am still having trouble walking.

Guest guest
Lu called me today from the Mayo Clinic. Here is what she has found out so far. She has arthritis all around her spinal cord, osteoarthritis, degenerative joint disease, her bone mass in her hands and feet is almost nothing, her liver enzymes are off the wall. She is seeing Dr. Luthra for RP on Friday. She took a sleep study last night and she woke up every 3 minutes so she will be put on a C pap machine. She was told by a Dr. there that did Research on RP, is that most of us need a C pap. I'm not sure about the details, so will wait til she can tell you. She also found out that people with Sjogren's syndrome are likely to have an enlarged spleen or liver from the disease and not the meds. As far as she knows, she will be home on Sunday unless they decide to do more testing. She has had therapy on her back and it is 100% better. Well, that's about all. If I hear any more i will send it along. hugs
