Guest guest
Hello all! I have not posted for a month as I have been offline due to a change in my DSL service. I feel like I am rapidly deteriorating and I don¹t really care to see the doc about it because, as she says, ³there is no more that we can do for your CP.² So, I lie around all day, play a little music, study Russian, and sleep way too much. Protein in the form of meat seems to exacerbate my pain and all I can really eat without fear are carbs. Well, the carbs just raise my blood sugar to the hilt and now I am in a quandary. I can¹t stand more than a few minutes without getting nauseous and I can¹t walk very much, even around the house. So, I am bedridden. For the one asking about a whipple, Carol Cornwall, I would ask what TYPE of whipple are you getting, as there are 2-3 types. I had a regular whipple 9 years ago. You are so right that it is like getting gutted like a perch. The pain of the operation and recovery are not too bad‹it is the outcome. I still have CP, even though they took about 2/3 of my pancreas. I wish that they had just removed the whole thing. I also have diabetes, which is why they leave part of the pancreas and not all of it‹they hope that you will not get diabetes after the operation. Fortunately, I have a wonderfully supportive spouse who takes care of EVERYTHING! I no longer drive as I am not healthy enough to do much, so I am home most of the time. I have only made it to 2 family gatherings in the last year. I try to make the best of it and do things that make me happy‹the best advice I can give you!!!
