Guest guest
Hello, Has anyone ever done this diet with children allergic/intolerant to everything. I started the diet with the kids aug 1st after removing many scd illegal foods in July. Both children are very allergic to peanuts/nuts. My youngest is very allergic to eggs, yogurt and even a little probiotic makes her sick. I stopped the eggs, yogurt with my oldest as they were giving him tonsil, stomach, sore mouth, stuttering problems. I started some raw/peeled fruits and veges...as they are hungry..and are tired of the cooked fruit popsicles and bananas...a raw carrot even gives my youngest a sore mouth....we use tomato juice for ketchup as honey/vinegar/garlic hurt the mouth... there is no nut I can use..tried them all ie. nut butters I know you should follow the diet 100%, but I've been forced to use a little potato as they are hungry. I'm sure the nut trials has set us back. Don't know if I should continue.. thanks, Cathy 9-celiac,peanut allergy 6- celiac, milk, egg, peanut allergy Both Allergic/Intolerant many more food families
Guest guest
Cathy, How about olives from the HFS without any additives such as Santa Barbara Olives.? How about avocadoes? Those two foods are very filling. Have you tried squash? Do continue with SCD because the allergies will lessen in time. Guest guest
Tried the avocadoes, they won't eat that. Will try the Olives. I've been hidding squash in meat, they like the spaghetti sqaush(3 times a week). Thanks, Cathy > > Hello, > > Has anyone ever done this diet with children allergic/intolerant to > > everything. Guest guest
What about some of the yellow squashes? Butternut squash is especially good.... and very satisfying/filling..... or acorn squash? I think it probably has more calories in it than spagetti squash, too. Patti Re: SCD with: no eggs, no yogurt, no nuts.... Tried the avocadoes, they won't eat that. Will try the Olives. I've been hidding squash in meat, they like the spaghetti sqaush(3 times a week). Guest guest
Thanks Patti, We tried some butternut fries and butternut, acorn squash plain. They probably won't eat it unless it is hidden or they don't know it is squash. Maybe I could hide squash in chile without the beans.(No beans, very intolerant to all legumes, just like dad) They love chicken salad, but my oil/vinegar dressing doesn't hold it together well. Guest guest
Cathy My kids will eat butternut or acorn squash with a little butter (ghee blend), honey, and cinnamon, or with crushed pineapple in the acorn cavity. Pureed, squash can be mixed with applesauce. Pureed cauliflower with lots of " butter " and seasonings is good, too. Lorilyn._,___
