Guest guest
Saw the surgeon today. It appears that I am going to have a regular full Whipple. I had a bout of what I call break through emotions in the office and burst into tears. What a grown up. I am just coming off my last acute attack from the lipotripsy and still feel like a bag of whatever. Anyone in the Chicago area? Dr. Helton impressed me. He had a scruffy growth on his face because he had spent the night in IC with a patient. No mention of the fact I did this to myself. Explained the procedure carefully to me. His nurse is not afraid of the abuse from the private disability folks and promised to stay on top of it. So, we shall see. He said the same thing Poncho did. He wants to get in there and take a good look. I guess my pancreas is flatter than most??? Carol
Guest guest
Carol, Just take it one day at a time. Your doctor sounds like he's considerate and thorough. Like Poncho said, there may be something more there that only an eyeball view will show, and it sounds like this doctor has this in mind. I wish you all the good fortune that can be given. It's not an easy decision to make and your tears are well understood. I could have easily done the same. Emotions run high when considering any type of surgery....this type is major and hopefully will have a positive impact on your health and your pain when the recovery is all behind you. You will be in my prayers. Try to rest up and relax and your strength will return. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina SC & SE Regional Rep. Guest guest
Dear Carole, When are they planning on doing the surgery. I live in SE Wisconsin but I go to the University of Chicago for my GI care. The local hospitals, all in Illinois, won't touch me with a ten foot pole when it comes to my GI stuff. What hospital do you use? Carol wrote: Saw the surgeon today. It appears that I am going to have a regular full Whipple.
