Guest guest
Unfortunately my son cannot tolerate butternut squash fries! And they are so good and he likes them so much! I wonder if it's because it's a orange? We haven't tried carrots yet... Trish
Guest guest
Have you tried the squash cooked in some other way other than frying? I would suggest starting with plain baked or steamed squash rather than the fries. Start with a small amount. What symptoms did he have that showed you he did not tolerate it? Guest guest
-this is what I was going to say, frying is best avoided really, squash goes great in chicken soup, just at the stage you remove the chicken ( we eat this separate ) I add a chopped b.n. squash and cook for a further 20 mins, and blend , Josie x -- In pecanbread , " Patti " wrote: > > Have you tried the squash cooked in some other way other than frying? Guest guest
I baked them in the oven with olive oil. His bum got all red and he started licking his lips and had them all red too. And he was just very upset the days he ate the butternut squash. He's had none for two days now and is fine. Should I try again in a couple of weeks maybe? Guest guest
Hmmm.... that's too bad you're seeing symptoms like this. Squash is usually well tolerated. I guess I would hold off for at least a few weeks... maybe longer... before trying it again. Patti Re: Butternut squash I baked them in the oven with olive oil.
