Guest guest
Hi everyone, We've been SCD for 2 yrs. and 3 mos, and I've been hoping to gradually introduce my daughter to as close to a normal diet as she is able to tolerate........probably a stricter variation of GFCF (no or little corn, etc.) and Feingold. Are there any outlines for doing this, or has anyone undertaken this successfully. Any suggestions helpful, and recipes too. Thanks so much Judy
Guest guest
Judy, My intuition tells me that raw goat milk might be the easiest SCD illegal food to tolerate. From the experience of others,it has been found that potatoes are easier to digest than rice. However, before you rush to buy potaotes please be aware that potatoes might contain solanine. " Solanine is a toxin that occurs naturally in " greened " potatoes, produced when the potato is old or exposed to sunlight for lengthy periods of time. " (I am quoting a website). I think that sweet potatoes might be a better choice than potaotoes. Please remember that we are in the midst of a diabetic epidemic,SCD is a wonderful prevention method for avoiding diabetes as well as other health conditions. I myself have no desire to leave SCD and will only stray from the diet on special occasions. ( occasionally i have to stop yogurt for a few days and re-introduce it). I still do not tolerate grain but can very occasionally have something that contains sugar or cream. I am celiac and which accounts for the grain allergy. Overall, I find conventional food lacks flavor and have opted to remain 99% on SCD lifelong because it makes me happy. Carol F.
