Guest guest
What state are you in? Do you need to order on-line or just need to go somewhere to find it? In southern CA, I find frozen fruits at regular supermarkets, health food stores, and a co-op that I order from every 6 weeks. Almond and other nut flours are also available at health food stores, although usually in pricey one pound bags, or can be ordered. I'd try that one pound bag and see how you do with it. We can't have nuts at all (probably due to the high oxalate content) but this list was named pecanbread because so many kids had problems with almonds, they used pecans instead. If you don't have problems with almonds, that would be a good time to buy the 25 lb. sack and divide it into smaller bags. It would take less room than you think, and you would freeze some and refrigerate what you could use soon, and some could stay at room temperature. Most of the vanilla I have seen has sugar in it, but in California, the little warehouse chain Smart & Final carries a sugar-free vanilla extract. (Why are you looking for vanillin? It is high in phenols or something else, I heard years ago to avoid it for autistic kids at least.) Lorilyn frozen fruits, almond nut flour, dole pineapple juice questions? where can i buy large bags of legal frozen fruits? where can i buy smaller quantities of nut flour than 25# from hughson's for $100. i guess that doesn't sound too bad since i just spent $16.50 on 1# of almond meal today. yikes!! but i don't have a large refrigerator to store 25#. what is the cheapest source for ordering yogourmet yogurt starter packets? and is it ok to use pure vanilla extract. i can't find vanillin. Guest guest
Lucy's Kitchen Shop has really nice almond flour... and you can buy 5 lbs. I think the price for 5 lbs is something like $6 a lb. She has the Yogourmet starter, too. That's where I order it. You might find it " cheaper " somewhere else, but I looked at those various sites and calculated their " lower " price, with their HIGHER shipping cost and decided to go with Lucy. www.lucyskitchenshop.com . She has everything SCD... the cookbooks, etc. You need to look for PURE vanilla extract, with no added illegals. We don't use vanillin..... only real vanilla extract. Frontier makes one. I buy it at Wild Oats.
