Guest guest
hi everyone. we are heading down to cranial tech in ct tommorow to have jack evaled for a helmet. Any suggestions for me? maybe ?s to ask etc. I am the mom that had went to Hanger in Nashua and they said that insurance denied the claim. when i recieved letter from cigna it just says that the doctor needs to fax them more information so that they can make a decision. and that it was not a denial letter. we have cigna HMO. and as far as i know it is covered under out specific policy. Plus i didnt have a very got experience at hanger and will not be going back to them. So we shall see what Cranial says when we go. we are also probably switching jack back to the peditrician my daughters use. I had switched him from her to the doctor that gave the referral to the Nuerologist due to my daugthers peditrician retracting his uncircumsized penis and that isnt suppose to be done and telling me that his pee hole needed to be made bigger. but she is a developmental peditrician. so she is excellent and was kind of shocked that the doctor i switched him to didnt pick up on flat head at his 4 month checkup. So i am gonna be switching him back to the original Ped. and just gonna bring proof that APA says not to retract a uncircmcized penis. but anyways back to cranial. any questions I should ask? etc etc. thanks ladies
Guest guest
Hi, I just want to let you know that my son just got his doc band on Monday from Cranial Tech in Clinton, CT. I was told by others to ask what the helmet will NOT correct so that I will not have unrealistic expectations. Don't be afraid or embarrassed to ask questions, I asked a lot of questions. Does your son have tort.???? I would love to know what you thought of Cranial tech and the clinicians. I hope you made out well and good luck. Guest guest
Well we just got back from cranial tech in clinton and had a wonderful experience. he has `16 mm for his measurements and you can totally see a parrellagram in his photos. They are submitting to the insurance tommorow or monday and once approved we will be going back sometime next wk to do the imaging. I already called cigna and asked if cranail is a in network provider and yep they are and 100 percent of the band is covered to unlimited amount of money. What a relief. They said they are thinking he will have his band for 3 months and that possibly will need a 2nd band. has anyone had a 2nd band covered by insurance? and is it only if you have 12 mm or more to get them to cover 2nd band? Well worth our drive from NH. Just hoping the imaging and fitting goes well. Guest guest
I am so glad that you had a good experience. My only suggestion is that if you don't hear from Cranial Tech. call them. I had to because it was going over a week to hear about my insurance. Does your son have tort.? We lost four weeks because they made the helmet wrong. My son just got his helmet this Monday. Good luck and keep me updated. Guest guest
No they did not charge us or else I would have had a fit. We had to pay 1,500.00 out of pocket. Our son has been going to PT since he was two months old and he told us not to get a second helmet because they just want our money. I am going to see how his head looks when we get to that point. My husband just took our son and since Monday his head grew and already had to get his helmet shaved down quite a bit. I hope your insurance company gives the ok quickly. Guest guest
My daughter got her second band earlier this month. We also go to Clinton. Her numbers improved after the first but they recommended a second. My insurance company covered the first band as an out of network benefit and said they will cover the second the same way. CT said when insurance cover the first they typically cover the second. I live in CT and complain about the drive. You are a great mom to continue to make that drive! > > > From: me <mcim2007gmail (DOT) com> > Subject: we are going to cranial in Ct tommorow for eval. any suggestions > Plagiocephaly > Date: Wednesday, August 19, 2009, 1:18 PM > > > > > hi everyone. we are heading down to cranial tech in ct tommorow to have jack evaled for a helmet.
