Guest guest Posted August 13, 2004 Report Share Posted August 13, 2004 Jen, ask the doctor to have an ERCP. Sometimes the damage doesn't show up on the MRCP, but does show up in the ERCP. It really worries me that your lipase is alwasys so elevated. Also, you are entitled to a second opinion from another doctor. It definitely sounds like you need one. Especially if the doctor is unwilling to do an ERCP or give you some sort of diagnosis. I'd look for a pancreatitis specialist. Sometimes the divisum can cause CP, even though it doesn't show the signs of it causing the CP. That's what happened to me, though I only had repeated acute attacks for many years and then eventually turned into CP and constant daily pain, though it took a long time for that to happen.
