Guest guest
I am with you, e. I am in Colorado where we have lost 9 children to this awful virus! Signs are sore throat, cough, weakness, headache, muscle pain, fever. If you have had the flu shot, everyone is in agreement that your case - if you are unfortunate enough to get it - will probably be milder. I can attest to that, because I did get it and it was nowhere near as bad as most. Still, it started to turn into bronchitis and then I got antibiotics (very wonderful powerful ones!) and now I am almost better. Our school sent home flyers on keeping healthy (simple things like coughing into a sleeve instead of hand and WASHING THOSE HANDS!!!). The school is very good about reminding the kids about the hand washing and they keep the liquid no-water alcohol soap in the classrooms. Nurses from our hospital were on NPR today. When to get to the hospital: inability to reduce a fever even by alternating ibuprophen and acetominephin (sp); difficulty breathing (duh); non-responsiveness; dehydration with lack of interest in fluids or ability to keep fluids down. Prayers with you ALL, especially this little one. Guest guest
e, Hi.If you find anything out about the flu outside of what i've read as posts plz let me know.Tyler is still on home iv's and i gave him and my 2 wocf the flu shot yesterday(thurs). There are none left for the county, and the pediatrician only had 7 left, so me and my husband cant get one anywhere.I'm scared to get it cuz its so hard for me to take care of my little ones when i'm sick.Last yr i got the flu in february and it was so bad, i was sick for a week straight! The ONLY thing good that came out of it was I lost the few pounds i was trying for!!Not much of a concellation(SP?) even still.Yesterday I noticed a golfball in my throat which hurts today, and Selena(no cf),3, has a wicked cough.Gave her Robitussin, but i think the flu shot wont work if you p/up the bug right after you get the shot.Keeping fingers crossed.Making sure to give us all fresh fruit and vitamins in case we get hit hard.Dont know what else to do.I'm spraying everything w/lysol and trying to wash those hands!!! Keeping my fingers crossed.
