You sound like me the first year I had polychondritis--tests

seemed to come out looking normal as I got sicker and sicker.

I have the pain around the back of the ears in the mastoid

section as you seem to describe. For heaven's sake, if your doctor

says you don't have rp get another opinion!

I am, by the way, also a librarian -- a retired children's

librarian.

Hi ,

Just can't sleep, so here I sit at 3 AM reading

E-mail.

Thanks for the reply. I don't need any more fear with

this stuff. My GP does think it is RP but he sent me

to an EENT for the biopsy and he doesn't think it is

RP. I learned last Wed that my GP had not rec'd a

letter from the EENT to report the results of the

biopsy or his opinion on the diagnosis. I'll be

talking to him tomorrow.

I am 62 today and July 31 I will be RETIRED. I am not

a Librarian. My education was in business, economics

and accounting so when I retired from the ARMY in 1980

I came to the Library as Business Manager and that job

soon turned into Asst Director for Support Services.

I had Finance, Purchasing and Contracting, Computer

Services, and Facility Management. See

HTTP://www.lexpublib.org. I got to build our Central

Library and four branches. I has been a great second

career.

Stay in touch, Bob
