Guest guest
I have also CIGNA PPO and am scheduled for next Wednesday - 10/04. I picked up my pre- and postop meds today. I have a $20 co-pay and with all 7 prescriptions the total was $112.78. Hope that helps. on Surgery date 10/04/00 -- In MiniGastricBypass (AT) egroups (DOT) com, garside@b... wrote: > I have Cigna Insurance and my surgery is scheduled for October 16th. > Are the medications that we have to take before surgery and after > surgery covered by our insurance company or is this something that we > have to pay up front ourself? > > Thanks > > Joyce > Chapel Hill, N.C. Guest guest
Hi. I have Blue Cross insurance, which paid for my surgery. I got my perscribtions filled with my " Paid " insurance card. I had all of my pre and post-op medication filled before I left for surgery, except for pain meds which I did not need anyway. If your insurance plan normally pays for perscribtions, they will cover your meds for this surgery. Guest guest
Hi Joyce, My insurance did not cover my MGB but it covered all my medications. Seems that the meds are common meds for common tummy complaints so they never questioned it. Good luck!! Beth in Florida MGB 8/10/00 Down 38 pounds! Guest guest
Hi Beth (in Florida)- Congrats!!!! Since your insurance did not cover yours, how'd you pay for it? Regina in Charlotte
Guest guest
Whether your insurance pays or not is up to your individual policy. I asked my Primary physician for samples. I was able to get them all free that way. The Levoquin is about $20 for one pill. Most Docs don't mind giving samples and since your physician knows about your surgery I'm sure they will be happy to give you the samples.
